OTP delivery (SMS & WhatsApp)

How checkout login codes reach your shoppers — on the platform's accounts by default, or your own SMS/WhatsApp sender when enabled.

Every checkout starts with a one-time code that verifies the shopper's phone. By default these go out on IndiSell's own SMS and WhatsApp accounts — nothing to set up, it just works. If you'd rather send from your own sender, that's configurable under Settings → Integrations → OTP Verification.

SMS — your own sender MSG91 Auth key DLT template ID WhatsApp — your own account Provider · MSG91 / Meta Auth template name PREVIEW · WHATSAPP 4821 is your verification code. For your security, do not share it. ⧉ Copy code
Each channel has its own on/off and credentials; the preview shows what shoppers receive.

Default: platform delivery

Out of the box, OTP codes send from the platform's accounts. This needs no configuration and covers every store. You can stop reading here unless you want your own branded sender.

Optional: your own sender

If your store is granted custom messaging, you can send OTP from your own accounts:

ChannelWhat you need
SMSAn MSG91 auth key + an approved DLT template and sender ID
WhatsAppProvider credentials (MSG91 or Meta Cloud API) + an approved Authentication-category template

Each channel has its own on/off switch and a live message preview on the OTP settings page.

Delivery priority

When both channels are available, you choose which delivers the code first — WhatsApp-first (SMS fallback) or SMS-first. Shoppers always get a "resend via…" option for the other channel.

Send OTP WhatsApp first(your priority) SMS fallbackif WA fails
If the first channel fails, IndiSell falls back to the other so the shopper always gets their code.
ℹ️
Custom SMS and WhatsApp senders each require an approved template from your provider (DLT for SMS, an Authentication template for WhatsApp). Until those are approved, IndiSell keeps sending on the platform accounts so checkout never breaks.
