Connections

Connect your Meta (WhatsApp) and MSG91 accounts once — validated and encrypted — then reuse them across OTP, COD confirmation, and cart recovery.

A connection is one messaging account — a Meta WhatsApp number or an MSG91 account — that you add once. IndiSell validates it against the provider, stores the credentials encrypted, and makes it available everywhere a message goes out: OTP codes, COD confirmations, and abandoned-cart recovery.

Before connections, every feature asked for its own keys. Now you connect an account in one place and simply pick it wherever it's needed — rotate a token once and every feature keeps working.

ℹ️
Find it under Settings → Connections. You can add as many accounts as you like — for example one WhatsApp number for transactional messages and another for marketing.

Why connections

Connect once

Add an account a single time. OTP, COD and recovery all reference the same connection — no re-entering keys per feature.

Validated on add

We check the credentials against Meta / MSG91 before saving. An account only lands in your list if it actually works.

Multiple accounts

Add several accounts and choose the right one per feature. Each shows a live Valid or Invalid status.

Add a connection

1
Open Settings → Connections

Click + Add connection and choose the provider — Meta WhatsApp (Cloud API) or MSG91.

2
Enter the credentials

The form shows only the fields that provider needs. Give the account a label you'll recognise (e.g. "WhatsApp — Orders").

3
Validate & connect

We call the provider to confirm the credentials. If they're valid the account is saved and appears with a green status, its capabilities (WhatsApp / SMS) and account details.

Meta WhatsApp (Cloud API)

FieldWhere to find it
Permanent access tokenMeta Business → System users → generate a token with whatsapp_business_messaging (and whatsapp_business_management to list templates).
Phone number IDWhatsApp Manager → your number → API setup.
WhatsApp Business Account ID (optional)WhatsApp Manager → account settings. Needed to list templates — see the note below.
⚠️
Template list empty or a #100 error? Some tokens can't read the WhatsApp Business Account from the phone-number ID, so IndiSell can't fetch your templates automatically. Paste your WhatsApp Business Account ID into the connection (Connections → Edit) and the live template list works. You can always type a template name by hand instead.

MSG91

FieldWhere to find it
Auth keymsg91.com → API → Auth keys.
Sender ID (optional)Your approved DLT sender header.
WhatsApp number (optional)Your MSG91-integrated WhatsApp number, if you use it for WhatsApp.
💡
MSG91's egress may be IP-restricted. If validation says the key is rejected, whitelist IndiSell's server IP in MSG91 → API / IP security.

Where connections are used

Once an account is connected, pick it inside each feature. The credentials never leave the connection — features just reference it.

FeatureWhat you pickWhere
OTP deliveryOne or more WhatsApp / SMS methods, each backed by a connection, in priority orderSettings → Integrations → OTP Verification
COD confirmationA WhatsApp account + its approved templateOrders → COD confirmation → WhatsApp
Cart recoveryA WhatsApp account + its approved templateAbandoned → WhatsApp

See OTP delivery for the methods model, COD confirmation for confirm/cancel messages, and cart recovery for resume-link messages.

Dynamic templates & variable mapping

When you pick a Meta connection, IndiSell loads that account's approved templates live — you choose one from a dropdown instead of typing a name that might reject. Selecting a template:

  • auto-fills the variable rows to the template's {{1}}…{{n}} body variables, and
  • shows a live preview of the message with sample values.

For each variable you map what fills it — the OTP code, your store name, the order number, the amount, a resume link, or custom text — so any approved template shape works without a mismatch rejection.

ℹ️
Templates are approved by Meta, not by IndiSell. Create and submit them in WhatsApp Manager; IndiSell only fills an approved template.

Manage a connection

Each connection in the list has:

  • ✓ Valid / ✗ Invalid status with the reason, and the account details (number, WhatsApp Business Account, SMS balance).
  • Edit — update the credentials (re-validated before saving, so a bad edit never replaces a working account) or rename it.
  • Re-check — re-validate against the provider (catches a token that expired later).
  • Remove — delete it. Features using it fall back to the platform default, or stop sending until you pick another.
💡
If a connection goes Invalid (an expired token, a rotated key), fix it once in Connections and every feature that uses it recovers — no need to touch OTP, COD and recovery separately.
